Depois de passar pelo Instituto Tomie Ohtake em São Paulo em 2024, a exposição Água Pantanal Fogo foi apresentada em Hamburgo e Berlim, na Alemanha, em 2025. O curador Eder Chiodetto selecionou imagens de dois dos principais fotodocumentaristas do Brasil: Lalo de Almeida, fotojornalista de jornais como a Folha de S.Paulo, e Luciano Candisani, que trabalha para a revista National Geographic. As imagens foram inspiradas por contrastes extremos: a fauna e a flora do bioma brasileiro e os incêndios que se alastraram na região entre 2020 e 2024. Por meio de imagens contrastantes, a exposição enfatiza que a preservação do Pantanal é de extrema importância para todo o mundo. Com o poder dos paradoxos refletidos na fotografia, a exposição “Wasser Pantanal Feuer” mostrou a exuberância e a tragédia da maior planície aluvial do mundo, o Pantanal.
After being shown at the Tomie Ohtake Institute in São Paulo in 2024, the exhibition “Água Pantanal Fogo” was presented in Hamburg and Berlin, Germany, in 2025.
Curator Eder Chiodetto selected images by two of Brazil’s leading photojournalists: Lalo de Almeida, a photojournalist for newspapers such as “Folha de S.Paulo”, and Luciano Candisani, who works for “National Geographic” magazine. The images were inspired by extreme contrasts: the fauna and flora of the Brazilian biome and the fires that raged across the region between 2020 and 2024. Through these contrasting images, the exhibition emphasises that the preservation of the Pantanal is of the utmost importance to the whole world. With the power of paradoxes reflected in photography, the exhibition Wasser Pantanal Feuer showed the exuberance and tragedy of the largest floodplain on earth, the Pantanal.
